Yes, to open a satellite brainwashcafe!!~) Happy New Year cc!
Did you know that Delaware is one of two states that have state capitals without a commercial airport?
I spent two days and saw pretty much all of Delaware..Rehobeth Beach has good restaurants, but you don't have to go that far to get good eats.
So..to answer yer question: NO>
You could see a movie. Uh... that's all I can think of.
I spent a month in Delaware one week. The DuPont family home is there and it's quite nice - they have an art institute on site. That's all I can come up with, though!
Ah yeah, Delaware rocks! I spent two weeks at Rehoboth Beach the summer after graduation, it's great. Go, go, go!
You can go hang out with my kid sister and bro-in-law in Nebraska. I wouldn't go right now though, they have 14+ inches of snow on the ground, which I think is damn funny since they kept claiming before moving "oh, the weather's not much different there".... yeahsureright uh huh. :)
Get busy packing.
In my mind I'm seeing one righteous re-enactment of Washington crossing the Delaware (I'm guessing the river runs through there somewhere). Yep Smiley in full military regalia standing in the bow of a rowboat.
Now, if that's not reason enough, I don't know what is.
Well, Delaware's my birthplace. They should have a marker outside of Kent General that says "Linda was born here". If not, you can add one. The aforementioned Rehobeth Beach, with its boardwalk, salt water taffy, and fries with malt vinegar. And Grotto pizza. Mmm, Grotto pizza. Bethany and Dewey beaches are nice, too.
I can remember many a trip to Bombay Hook wildlife refuge. Dover has some neat museums... And you can play slots at the racetrack.
And no sales tax - I think the no sales tax argument is a good one!
I'm convinced. Delaware is on the road trip list!
But I would love to go to Ketchikan Alaska where my mom was born while my granddad was a National Park Service ranger.
I'll get to them all some day.
I can't believe you've never been to Oklahoma.
